Fear Loves This Place

So a man struck a woman again
and a veil descended from above,
the reasons they cried out
but it was no time for crying,
it was the shaking of the world.

We're living one hell of a heaven,
Deliver one world at one take.
You hear me crying out, yeah yeah I'm praying
Fear loves this place.

Sheer determination, I walk those miles,
pitiful, microscopic nobody.
Woman, even the night is keeping me alive.
One is gone and one is back.
The little sister cries
and the babe lies on the doorstep,
along with something that you lack.

We're living one hell of a heaven,
Deliver one world at one take.
You hear me crying out, yeah yeah I'm praying
Fear loves this place.

Aaaahhhh
Breathe in and out
O lord its coming to me tonight
peaceful the knives inside me still...

We're living one hell of a heaven,
Deliver one world at one take.
You hear me crying out, yeah yeah I'm praying
Fear loves this place.

We're living one hell of a heaven,
Deliver one world at one take.
You hear me crying out, yeah yeah I'm praying
Fear loves this place.

Dragging me by my hair....

What on earth have we done?

Pristeen

Pristeen. Pristeen
How much can you take?
Pristeen. Pristeen
How much can you take?
'Cause your lying to me was you first mistake,
Your trusting in me was your major mistake,
Pristeen. Pristeen
How much can you take?
'Cause your lying to me was your first mistake,
Trusting in me was your major mistake,
Pristeen. Pristeen
How much can you take?
I went down on Pristeen,
Now, how much does it take
To go down on someone - someone that you hate?
'Cause her lying to me was her first mistake,
Trusting in me was her major mistake,
Pristeen. Pristeen, tell me how much can you take?

Julian Cope

Pristeen is about a man falling in love with his ideal woman, then living with her for a while and discovering that she was not that way at all. He had merely projected his own image on to her and his love gradually turns to loathing. It is a metaphor for Man’s relationship with the Mother Earth: at first we thought she was the All-Giving Goddess. When we “discovered” that she was not, religions came that insisted in “dominion over the land”. As Jim Morrison said, “What have we done to the Earth? … tied her with fences and dragged her down”. Mother Earth's not a virgin anymore

Double Vegetation

So freaked out
So humiliated
I feel outclassed
I feel overrated

Why did you & me both stand in line?
He said "I want you"
Each day we get closer to the big bad fire

I looked down at the sickness in you
Your hands reach out for my location
But you're so lost in the things you do
That you're caught in the double vegetation

Invent to conceal
All the holes in your heart
Oh, we discussed & discussed
Your disgusting routine

Why did you & me both stand in line?
He said "I want you"
Each day we get closer to the big bad fire

I looked down at the sickness in you
Your hands reaching out for my location
But you're so lost in the things you do
That you're caught in the double vegetation
